Oscar “Buck” Warner, Jr., age 69, of Linden, entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Heritage Hall in Front Royal.

A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home in Front Royal. Reverend Harold Brown of Gilford Baptist Church will officiate. Buck was born on November 17, 1940 in Markham; one of thirteen children born to the late Oscar Warner, Sr. and Willie Agnes Haley Warner. He was a laborer working in many places and was known to his family as a “jack of all trades.” Buck was a great dancer and storyteller with a sense of humor that all his family will sorely miss. He was also famous for his cooking skills, especially his biscuits and beans. Most importantly, he was a second father to all his nieces and nephews; all of who will deeply miss their Uncle Buck.

Those left to cherish Buck’s memory include his brothers; Channing Milton Warner, Major Robert Warner, Sr., William Warner, Harrison Warner, and Theodore Warner; his sisters, Bernice R. Cook, Marie Warner Jones, Margaret E. Warner, Doris I. Jackson, Pauline M. Harris, Florence H. Baltimore, and Susie Warner; four aunts and one uncle, his great aunt, Luella Haley, who is a healthy 102, of Washington, DC; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
